Ambulance Relief Centres are led by an experienced team of healthcare leaders with extensive backgrounds across NHS clinical services, diagnostic imaging, and healthcare delivery.

Emma Cumberbatch

Emma Cumberbatch holds both BSc and MSc qualifications in Medical Imaging and has more than 25 years’ clinical experience as a radiographer. Her career includes extensive work within emergency departments before specialising in ultrasound for the past two decades across hospital and community settings. Emma also teaches undergraduate and postgraduate healthcare students and co-founded a healthcare business now accredited as an NHS partner.

Jason Massa

Jason Massa is a healthcare leader specialising in diagnostic imaging and operational healthcare delivery. Since 2013 he has served as Director of RMS, an NHS-accredited partner delivering insourced radiology services to NHS Trusts across the UK.

Jason combines frontline NHS experience with commercial expertise to develop scalable solutions that help the NHS address capacity challenges and deliver patient-centred care.

Roy Craven

Roy Craven holds BSc, MSc and PhD qualifications in Medical Imaging and has over 28 years of clinical experience.

Originally trained as a Combat Medical Technician with the Royal Army Medical Corps, Roy began his NHS career in ambulance services before retraining as a radiographer. He is now an award-winning Consultant Radiographer and CEO of a leading insourced radiology provider supporting NHS services nationwide.

In 2024, around 800 working days, each day, have been lost to these delays, which are only counted when they exceed 30 minutes. In aggregate, it is the full-time equivalent of nearly 1,400 paramedics over the course of a year.
